La Vérendrye Reserve is the second largest national park managed by Canada's Sépaq organization. There are many canoeing circuits you can choose from. Campsites are clearly marked along the lakes, rivers, creeks, and portages you will encounter on your trip. It's located about 3 hours drive from Montreal.
Montreal Jazz Festival is a yearly music event known throughout the world. The most famous performers play inside music halls and tickets are required. But, even more bands play outside in the streets for free. There are several stages in the 5 square block or so area. Streets are closed to autos and you can stroll from stage to stage listening to a wide range of artists, while enjoying food and drinks. People of all types gather here in a friendly environment to enjoy live music of all types, not just jazz.
